Mac’s Shack is truly an amazing place and gave us a amazing holiday. This summer (2012) we rented all 4 cottages for our 3 grown daughters, their husbands and our 8 grandkids 4 & under. Everyone felt they had their own space and family time while lots of larger family time and cousin time. The cottages were so well equipped it made coming so easy and enjoyable and all your suggestions and helpfulness only made it a greater week. Special thanks to everyone during our medical emergency. Lions Head hospital provided great care. Our only reservation in recommending the cottages is that we won’t be able to find a free week to come again ourselves. To come here is to fall in love with Mac’s Shacks!!! Thanks again & hope to come again soon!

We all had a great time at Mac’s Shacks. We rented all the units with other friends and had a lovely time sharing BBQ. Kids enjoyed the canoeing. This is the first Cottage vacation where kids enjoyed equally as adults. There is a perfect balance of outdoors and indoors amenities and no one has to worry about anything but to chill on the deck and enjoy the Hot Tub. View of the lake from Look about is breath taking. Thanks to Karen and Peter for managing everything so perfectly to make it enjoyable. Will surely come back next year again !

Jack and I loved our two weeks here. We have been coming to the Bruce Peninsula since the early 50’s and this spot is a tresure. The MacDonalds have created a wonderful, restful, “spa-like” haven and we enjoyed every moment.
You’ve created a wonderful little getaway spot. The cottage was so warm and inviting and comfortable! Enjoying it in the “off-season” was definitely a treat. We don’t know if we should let our friends know, or keep this treasure to ourselves.
The cabins are all beautiful and were well equiped. Very comfortable. The natural surroundings; water, trees, were spectacular. Nice to get back to nature and appreciate its beauty.
The Cottage was absolutely gorgeous and equipped with everything a home has. We watched DVD’s on the rainy days and the Wi-Fi came in handy. The hot tub was great, the tourist pamphlets were very helpful and I loved the comfortable king size bed. Thank you Karen and Peter for your warm hospitality. We can’t wait to come back. See you next year!
Our family had such a fantastic stay with you this summer (2012). We loved our cottage (the Gardens) as it was perfect for our family of four. The cottage was so beautifully appointed and fresh and clean which put us at ease right away. Plus there were so many thoughtful details that helped to make our stay a success, from a welcome email before we arrived with a few tips on what to pack, to being greeted by Sue and Karen and giving us a tour around. Plus our cottage had everything from iPod docking station, to great books to read and board games to play. It was all wonderful. I feel like we found a hidden gem and we look forward to returning again.

We really enjoyed our stay in ‘The Huron.’ What and amazing “Shack!” We really appreciated the furnishings, equipment and amenities, especially the hot tub, internet and TV. We made lots of use of the kayaks, canoes and paddle boat to. The binder with information was really helpful. Thank you for sharing your paradise!

The whole family enjoyed our stay, kids didn’t want to leave. Our cottage was very comfortable, clean and fully equipped, the kids loved the bunk bed. The deck and view are amazing. We had so much fun fishing from the dock, our six year old daughter probably caught as many fish as dad did! Just staying at the cottage would be a great vacation, but there is also so much to do in the area – spectacular hiking & great beaches. Our second time here and will definitely be visiting again.
